Stock Photography spelling guide
How do you spell megapixel?
M-E-G-A-P-I-X-E-L
Megapixel is spelled M-E-G-A-P-I-X-E-L, written as one word. The last three letters are -xel, matching pixel, so megapixle is wrong. In stock photography a 33-megapixel file, like the 8K JPGs here, is considered large.
Spelling tip
One word, no hyphen; the ending follows pixel and is -el, not -le.
What it means in stock photography
A megapixel equals one million pixels. An 8K file at 7680 by 4320 is roughly 33 megapixels, a size that exceeds most stock photography downloads.
